Not sure what you are saying. This thread is about the RSQ3 you seemed to imply it would not get the 2.5 litre motor when Audi have clearly stated that it would. Perhaps I mis-read what you wrote. Or perhaps you mis read what I wrote which was that the intended engine for the RSQ3 is quite a gem and may well convince enthusiasts to overlook other shortcomings of the RSQ3.Not sure what your saying. Q3 is fwd platform, Q5 is not
RSQ3 is getting same engine as TT/A3
Someone mentioned the 5pot engine and RSQ5 in the same post and snowman was replying to the fact the 5cyllinder engine will never make it in to the Q5 platform...That engine is for the FWD platform (PQ35) - I doubt Audi would use it on anything else.
RSQ5 - I just cant see it on this generation, but the way Audi has turned "RS" into a mere trim level, i wouldnt bet against it in the future.
Wow 40% after 2 years, find me one of those R8sThe wife is desperate for a R8 and the only thing that has put me off is the residuals.
Sold my 3 year old Q5 and lost 26% as a trade in.
When quoted for an R8 they were quoting south of 40% depreciation after 2 years.
The resale value of those on the 2nd hand market confirm this.
Think I will back the Q5
Look on Autotrader!Wow 40% after 2 years, find me one of those R8s
That would make a 2 year old car less than 50k, when the actual number is closer to 69k - but it is what it is.
Totally. Also the discounts mean the losses are staying about the same, its just the starting and end points are moving.TTRS values plummeted from new too... Lets face it anyone buying new and selling within 24 months is in for a shock in the current market.
I agree though honeymoon period on residuals is over for the Q5 but its relative... From 9% off a new SQ5 to probably closer 12% off an sline means the gap closes a little.
I think the Q5 will continue to be a popular used buy though.
Ours is a family car and we got the 5 year warranty for a reason as we intend to keep it at least that long... So I'm not bothered about residuals personally.
Gotta pay to play![]()
I was lucky. I was one of the first to get a big discount off a TTRS 15% so I did feel for those that bought at launch.Totally. Also the discounts mean the losses are staying about the same, its just the starting and end points are moving.
RS TT was my biggest lost %wise for sure. 25-30% on either car im more than happy with those numbers.
+1Cars are rubbish investments generally - but what price can you put on repeated big smiles?
The best material possessions I've found for low depreciation/appreciation are quality shotguns - busting clays with a beautiful gun is another big smile inducing activity![]()
And I was the second with 20%...I was lucky. I was one of the first to get a big discount off a TTRS 12.5% so I did feel for those that bought at launch.
I'm sure they are, but not 2 year old ones.@ Snowman R8's with low mileage are available from ÂŁ50k retail in S Wales - check out the Autotrader site. As a general rule I agree with sq5john - all cars are rubbish investments, they are bought, or should be, for the driving enjoyment or to do a job of work.
You dont need to guesses to see why, what a colour!!This R8 has been for sale for months and it is very cheap http://www.autotrade.../1501?logcode=p
I wonder why LMAO ????
