For anyone looking to remove the reading lights on a panoramic roof Q5, I actually ripped a small strip of duct tape and wrapped it around the bulb, since my fingers and the needle nose pliers were too big and the bulb too slippery. Once I "lassoed" the tape around the bulb, I pulled it out quickly and voila!

Hope this helps!

Finally managed to get around to completing the light installs - and I have to say its so much better inside now.

Thanks Daironin for the tip about the duct tape - worked like a charm :)

And to those wanting to get this kit - I can thoroughly recommend Matt from partsulike - the kits works well (no errors on the dash) and the panoramic sunroof kit (which had the wrong number of canbus 501 bulbs in originally), has now been rectified on their website - thanks Matt for sending me the extra bulbs!

I didn't bother with changing the red reflector lights in the doors - as actually I think the LED lights don't work as well as the stock fitted bulbs.

Please help...

I am struggling to remove the number plate light and the main light (by mirror). I followed the diagram on the 1st page, but there are no gap for me to us a screw driver through. Can anyone advise me on how to do it please?

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone for all the useful info. I got my LEDs from tunerdome and they look fantastic. However, I m having difficulties replacing the rear dome and map lights (my car has panoramic roof). I wasn't able to pry the whole housing out by following the diagrams posted by another member, and also didn't have much luck with removing just the cover. Can someone please shed some light? If I choose to remove the entire housing, do I need to pry really hard or is there a trick to do it? Any help will be much appreciated!

Maybe this help:

This is a guide on how to replace lights for cars with sunroof - panoramic roof. Everything is explained
If this can not help really do not know how to help you

I just removed the translucent cover with a trim removal tool. There are about 6 or 8 tiny plastic clips holding it in place. Once you get one the rest come out easy.

It just felt safer to do that than try and take the whole light housing out the roof lining.

Also a tip for removing the actual stock bulbs is to wrap some Sellotape around the bulb head in a lasso style and then pull it out, rather than try and poke the glass bulb out and risk smashing it, as they are quite awkward to get out normally and there isn't much wiggle room with the pan roof variant dome lights. The Sellotape was someone else's tip from on here so I won't take credit for that!

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for all the great tips. Took me 2 hours to install all LEDs, but couldn't have done it without all the great tips. All are pretty straightforward except for the rear domes, they are bitches to install. Took me a while to figure out how to remove the covers. Oh, the best way to remove the hot rear dome bulbs is to shut all doors, let the bulbs cool off, and climb in from the trunk to take them out.
