Hi all,
hope this finds everyone well.

I was looking at buying a set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde (non-run flat version) tyres in 245/55 R20 for my 2014 Audi SQ5.
Does anyone have any experience with these tyres? Everything I've read online looks positive and I'm able to get a good deal on them.

Cheers!
Alex.

I've also got the same size Pirelli's on my Mk 2 Sline and, like Chris, find them to be very quiet, though can't say much about the wear rate, etc, as I've only had my car just over 2 weeks!!

As a matter of interest, where are you buying them from to get a good deal?

Thanks for the feedback all. Thats good to know you're finding them fine even if just for two weeks. I'd assume they'll wear a little quicker being Pirelli's, but only one way to find out!

N & C Tyres LTD in Stevenage. I've used them for years, as did my dad who was in the trade. They've always been competitive on price for me, seem knowledgable, always provide a quick and professional mobile service. They told me they've bought in a batch of the pirelli's that were used on some factory cars for a few miles before being taken off, so they're as good as new but at a nice knock down price. I havent had not strictly brand new tyres before, but I thoroughly trust the guys at N&C based on all my past experiences so hopefully this will work out to be another good buy.

Presumably the Verde variant is a (greener) lower rolling resistance tyre?
Standard tyre width for the SQ5 would be 255, so presumably this explains the narrower 245 you refer to?

Actually, my Pirelli's are 255/45 R20 which are the standard fit on the Mk 2 Q5 20" wheels option.
Yep; understood.
No pedantry intended but the OP wrote 245/55 so it's either a typo or, they're referring to a narrower tyre with a bigger side wall (that just isn't going to work with a 20" rim).
FWIW - I've two sets of wheels changed for winter and summer: Pirelli Ice and Snow 255/45/20's and P-Zero 255/40/21's.
Earlier 21" Dunlop's were the longest-lasting by some margin, Conti's were completely sh!te, The Pirelli's are the quietest and overall, still think the ride's better on the 20's with the bigger side wall.

Sorry, yes, typo on my part. I meant the 255/55 R20 and not 245.

From what I've read about the pirrelli's elsewhere, I gather the scorpion verde are the more touring style all season tyre whereas the scorpion zero is a gripper summer tyre. That being true, that suits me as I've now bought the tyres, but have 3.7mm tread left on my current front tyres, so wont need to actually have them fitted for a little while yet.

I had a BMW 335I over the summer that the previous owner had put incorrect tyre sizes on to save money - had some ÂŁ40 front tyres on a 301bhp car...

Had them promptly changed and was advised in the process that incorrect tyre sizes can cause issues with the cars insurance.
