Just acquired 2022 Audi Q5 55 TFSI e Premium. Ultra Blue with Okapi Brown interior. Beautiful on the lot and in my garage!
This was an impulse buy. Not needed. Mu other cars were low-mileage but lacked new driver features.
However, this Audi may not have been the friendliest choice for a senior citizen.
Spending many hours sitting in the driver's seat and studying the owner's manual. Still many mysteries.

1. "digitalhelp@audi.com" got me set-up and verified as Key User. Sincere THANKS.
2. How can I find what features came with my Premium (base) trim? I find features in the manual, but can't tell if I have them and need to pursue, or ignore.
3. I know I don't have Audi Navigation, but am using Maps and Waze apps on iPhone via Apple CarPlay. Can Apple CarPlay be set up as default on Home screen?
4. "Hey Siri" answers basic questions, but often says I need to be "online". Also, manual says "Alexa" is available but I was unable to connect. I think I need Audi Connect. What is Audi Connect? Do I have it on Premium model? If not, can it be added? Is there a work-around?
5. I've set up Homelink garage door opener. It works. But screen displays "tap screen to send" even after door has closed. How long do I have to wait before touching screen to avoid risk of re-opening garage door while driving away?
6. How do I leave the radio on for my wife/passenger when I get out of the car? Radio shuts off when I open the door (unlike BMW/Mini).
Sorry for my endless list of questions. I have many more.
Are there any after-market accessories that I have missed?
I'm glad to have found this forum of Audi enthusiasts. (In the past, the Mini Cooper user form was a great source of information.)

The manual isn't specific to your build of course so includes all options. You can see you options in the myaudi app or ask the dealer.

Satnav, I don't know what you mean my default. If you're thinking that you can change the satnav icon to launch maps on CarPlay then no. That's for Audi nav. Just press the phone icon when your Carplay is enabled and it will take you to it anyway.

Audi Connect is different from country to country so best you check with the dealer.

Radio : you can't to my knowledge. It's weird how it does it now and is different to my other Audi's. What I dislike the most is it doesn't give you the choice for a default startup volume anymore. I.e. if you've had it pounding and jump out then you'll get a shock next time you get in.

After market accessories : I've nonidea what you have or haven't got but there's lots of crap for sale. Audi genuine stuff is quite limited. E.g. splash guards/mud flaps (I preferred the ebay ones), all weather mats (if you don't have them), etc.

Missile & ScottyUK: Thank you for your informative replies.
I've been to my local Audi dealer --- very helpful. I will be returning with additional questions.
Learned that the original owner (car bought at this dealership) purchased 4-year AudiCare service --- $1,499 value. I'm eligible for the remaining 27-months service visits.
When I park but leave the ignition ON, the radio does continue to play after I open the door. Wife says "Thanks".
myAudi.app shows my Q5e came with Audi Connect (limited time subscription). Will have dealer explain what that means for further connectivity issues.
After-market: WeatherTech cargo liner with bumper guard, university "Alumni" license frame, iPhone charging pad (works great --- BTW, Audi's charging pad on daughter's new Q7 overheats her iPhone), etc.
I've always added splash guards on previous cars, but am now reluctant to drill mounting holes myself. Dealer will install Audi splash guards (WeatherTech made) for $250-$300.

Well yeah, if you leave the car on (with either engine running or stopped) or ignition on then the car is still awake and leaves it on.

I just assummed from the question it was when you're leaving the car for a period and wouldn't want the ignition on all that time.

Yes, it's only when I'm leaving my wife in the car that I want the radio to continue playing for her.
I never leave her unattended for long --- OK for the ignition to be on as long as the engine is off.

I'd personally turn the ignition off and just leave the passenger to press the volume knob (by their knee). That would turn it on again without training the battery so much.

I've tried that. It works that way in my daughter's '24 Q7 but not in my '22 Q5e.
Does it make a difference that my car is PHEV? In electric only mode and car in Park, even with ignition on there's no power to the rear/electric drive. I do want to avoid draining the battery unnecessarily.
I'll ask the dealer next time I visit.
Thanks so much.

Yeah the self protection is good but leaving a cars ignition on when you just want the radio is a crazy situation. What a waste. It then needs replenishing by being plugged in or the alternator and energy isn't free.

Just tried it. Ignition off, open door and the radio goes off... but pressing the volume button turns it back on.

Thanks ScottytUK for trying. Works for you but not for me. I'll ask dealer if there's anything I'm missing --- maybe a MMI setting.
I've gone through all features to understand what I have and don't have with Premium (base) trim. I can use Apple CarPlay with iPhone and Waze for navigation. I can survive without Amazon Alexa.
Thanks for your guidance.

I got Alexa working but it's a bit cumbersome. Firstly you need to set up you account.

To activate it, you need to donthe long press on the voice button and then say Alexa <instruction>. It's a bit hit and miss. The Audi voice recognition works well as goes Google Assistant (I'm using Android) and Alexa is 50/50....or I've just not played with it enough

I'm puzzled by your radio. Please let us know what the dealer says.

Hi "ScottyUK". Your posts encourage me to keep exploring.
1. Got radio to come on after leaving car. Button next to gear shift wasn't enough. Pressed START button to wake car up (no foot on brake pedal). Continue as "me". Select source and press button next to gear shift. Music comes on. Basically same as start up, but from passenger's seat without touching brake pedal or engaging gear shift.
2. Audi voice recognition works. Press and hold voice button on steering wheel. Release button when light spot appears on screen. Say "Hey Siri" or "Alexa" followed by simple instruction: time of day, date, weather, sunrise/sunset, etc. Don't know yet whether I actually have to say "Hey Sire" or "Alexa" of whether just holding voice button a while is enough. More complex queries are answered "not online". Asking for songs takes me to Apple Music which I need to play with more. :)

(1) You've effectively turned the ignition on. Odd that you need to
(2) Short press or 'hey audi' to instruct the car
For mine it's long press and I get Google Assitant e.g. can just say 'what's tomorrow's weather" or I say 'Alexa.......' and then that kicks in

If I say "hey Audi, play Queen", it goes to my USB stick.

Hi "ScottyUK".
1. Yes, that sounds like I had to turn the ignition on again. I'll remember to ask dealer if there's another method.
2. Voice recognition works but I have a lot more playing to do. "Hey Audi" and "Hey Siri" work without pressing the steering wheel button --- don't remember whether "Alexa" required the button or not. "Hey Audi" takes me to choices on MMI. "Hey Siri" answers basic queries like date, sunset, etc. Need a lot more exploring --- with and without steering wheel button.
3. And speaking of exploring, I have a lot to learn about Navigation using Waze app via Apple CarPlay and iPhone.
I'll get there. Thanks for the encouragement.

I can't believe after spending that kind of money on that car they didn't show you how to use that stuff and set you up with all of the siri and Audi connect ..wow
