Is there a setting to make the interior lights come on automatically when you switch off the engine.

At present when I stop and park at night I only get interior to light up when I open the door.

I would have though this would be automatic on manual engine stop via button. (Advance key and never in dash)

Will check what mine does next time. But I thought the interior lights do come on when you switch off via button. Maybe I'm wrong...

just seems odd that interior light do not come on if you switch off (or for that matter when you select Park), if exterior automatic lights are on.
My wifes A1 does, along with lights in the arm rest when she switches car off via key.

i'm pretty sure my interior lights come on when i push my keyfob into the dash to turn off the engine.

i'll check later.

I don't have the smart key, my interior lights don't come on when I turn the engine off but they do come on when I pull the key out the slot. No need to open the door. If the light switch is in 'auto' the exterior lights come on at the same time.

I always have my key in my pocket. This is the point of keyless, can't see any point in placing it in the dash to start the car and also stop.

But it sounds as if It affects when the interiors lights come on.

I'll try later with key in dash rather than pressing start stop and take out key when I stop

With keyless entry and stop with button I want the interior lights to come on rather than have to open the door. Audibseem to have overlooked this with this expensive option that misses an obvious feature on non keyless system.

Key out of dash = interior lights come on
Key in pocket and car stopped via button = no interior light until door opened
Pants !
They shoul both do the same
Wonder if there is some Option that can affect this, wonder if Audi know.

Just to confirm with keyless system: using the engine off button = no interior lights. You need to switch them on manually or open the door. For me I prefer this setup.

Actually the exterior lights - set to auto- only come on when I open the door. Perfect set up.

Thank fook my mistrust of all things automated ( and grabbers) kept me clear of the 'smart' key 'cause no interior light without having to open the door would annoy me.

'Terminator' obviously left an impression

Mind you, if it was 'free' like on the SE I would have probably been happy to have it, as a circa ÂŁ400 option, IIRC, no way.

Having said that, there's probably coding that can be done to get it how you like?

Well I guess you could choose either option by using the slot or not

No idea if my key slot even works - never used it, not even once.

Likewise, never had the key in the slot.... why would you with advanced, always hated a key fob or worse a bunch of keys dangling around the steering col all even worse in the dash !

Exterior light on door open is fine, but internal should comes on with switch off, anyone with VAGCOM know if this is possible ?

Just tried this too one press on button stops engine. Radio stays on until a second press without feet touching pedals and emradio goes off and lights come on!
