SQ5 21 months old, just hit 9K and DIS is showing oil change due now with the warning at every start
Image

MMI shows that the 2 year inspection is due in 90 days so I'll get oil and inspection done together as cheaper.

Best quote is £360inc from 2 closest Audi dealers .

My questions:

1) Is the price about right?

2) The only other maintenance item showing due at 2 years or my mileage is the dust pollen filter. I doubt that this item is really worth doing but should I get the dust/pollen filter changed at +£50 at the same time, do I leave it as I've only done 9K or do I do it myself as they are only around £15 to buy?

3) I have made quite a few coding changes to my setup. Should I just back these out and put back to standard for the service to prevent any questions being asked or leave it as is?

4) Should I be concerned about any software updates they may want to perform in light of the recent emissions issues etc, even though we are told they do not affect the SQ5?

1) Is the price about right? Seems about the going rate, might be worth asking them to price match.

I didn't change mine.

4) Should I be concerned about any software updates they may want to perform in light of the recent emissions issues etc, even though we are told they do not affect the SQ5? You could ask if they intend doing any update and if you don't want(?) ask them not to.

Just been quoted £481 for mine (19k @ 11 1/2 months)excluding AdBlue top up (we don't do that unless you ask sir ...............)

From what I see there is some regional variation in prices on servicing and I expect to pay more being inside the M25 so I'm happy at £360.

MrH, if that is for a 1st oil/filter change and inspection they will match it for around £360 as I was getting quoted around £450-£480 to begin with, Bexley Audi gave me the best price without asking.

@SQ5 Beasty - many thanks for that; I'll see what they say

UPDATE

I changed the pollen filter myself as Audi wanted over £60 to do it. I was very surprised how dirty the filter was in less than 2 years/9K miles so I'm glad I decided to do it.

If anyone is interested, my SQ5 had a MANN Filter part number 2450 fitted originally and here is the identical part I purchased on eBay for £16 rather than the £37 Audi wanted for the part only. Not a huge saving but at £60 to supply and fit there is still £40+ which will buy me half a tank of fuel.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291785059966

Fitting it really is an easy 5 minute job and the filter comes with a printed OEM Audi looking guide.

Probably nothing but as the actual filter supplied from new was a MANN 2450 I went for that

So went to see them today; it seems they had included a pollen filter in the quote but it is not needed at this stage! Removing the pollen filter from the quoted works brought the quote down to £420 so out came the e-mailed quote from "mycarneedsa"; result a glum looking service manager and quote reduced to £320

They really do not do themselves any favours by ripping off those who do not question original quotes

i was told by Wimbledon Audi where I bought my Q5 that Ad-Blu was free and always would be - and if ever i needed a top-up just drop into their service bay and get some - free.

as I don't live near Wimbledon - I've never actually put that to the test.

Ad-Blu free Mwahahaha

Yeah it's true I just piss in the tank once a year thought the funnel was for this. Saves a fortune.

Just an update, car was serviced a couple of weeks back and no problems to report.

An air con software update was performed but no effect or comments on my VCDS mods so I guess they were not noticed.

Total cost was £338inc.

Got same air con update as well.
