Considering buying an air compressor to keep in the car instead of relying on garage forecourt air. Appreciate any recommendations from forum re which one to go for. Just bought a Michelin Digital tyre pressure gauge #12279 and notice Michelin do a small air com #12259. Worth it?

I started looking too after seeing the other post about the guage. I would say the michelin black compressor with the pressure set (programmable) buttons is looking good. Not much point in wasting money on the gauge if you have one of those.

What model number is this one as the one I saw was 12259? which has a built in pressure gauge but the 12260 comes with a separate gauge. Anyone used either of these? Just checked out the Autoexpress best air comp and the Ring 635 won in 2014 perhaps this will be better plus its got a built in pressure gauge so no need for me to buy the Michelin!!

12265 you can't set the target pressure (programmable), other then that it's the same.

I use this one 12262

You can set the cut off pressure.

I have had a 12262 for a couple of years and would be happy to recommend it. Inflates quickly to pre-set pressure and the gauge seems to be accurate. Built in light can be useful after dark. Has been dropped a couple of times with no adverse effects. All in a good piece of kit.

No, but I keep one in each car.

Thanks have ordered the Ring RAC635 which seems to get good overall reviews by the media and the built in gauge appears to be quite accurate but might compare with a separate pressure gauge to see whether its up/down.
