After almost 3 years of impeccable driving, I'll be saying goodbye to my SQ5 in September. I've opted for an S4 Avant having driven just about every car going over the past few months. The interior and superb responsive engine won me over. I'm a little dissapontes with the part exchange value of ÂŁ32k but I did a lot of legwork to ensure this was the best out there so have no complaints. I'm getting a great deal on the new car too, 9% discount and fully loaded.
Be sad to see the SQ go but the new car drives even better. Happy days.

Can I ask what mileage your SQ5 has please as I will possibly be looking to part ex my SQ5 soon so would like to see how the mileage is currently affecting the valuations.

Thanks

Steve

Did you try a S6? If so, how did it compare to the S4? I'm starting to think this way (due to all the quality and delay problems) when up for a replacement .......................

Before I bought the SQ I looked at a black edition bitdi Allroad but decided it's was just too big for the 2 of us - and the parking spaces around here.

Cracking car though and 21% discount back then made a heavily specced model (I ticked almost every box) about the same as the SQ. An A4 Allroad bitdi would have been head to head with the SQ5, if only they make one!

If I wasn't saddled with the wife's caravan the S4 or S5 would have been on my list.

Cheers for that

I think the S4 is one of the best packages out there. Practical, subtle and really, really quick. Like all Audis its not the last word in handling or dynamics, but good enough to bring a smile to your face whilst you haul all your kit/family around. And as you've found it's got decent discounts because estates seem to be a little out of favour.

If you've not seen it - look up the "Chris Harris On Cars" video on youtube from his pre-TopGear days where he chips a shed of an old S4 and races it against the RS4...

Enjoy the new car!

My SQ has covered 18k currently, so will be around 20k when I part ex.
I did drive the S6 and it is great, but the interior and general technology is so outdated when you compare to new models. The Merc E43 AMG was a way better all round package than the S6, but I just couldn't make the numbers work for me.

Enjoy. Personally I'd stick with the SQ5 or get this:

Unfortunately that would be too small for hauling Mrs and 2 hulking teenagers (and all their luggage) around

It's not for them it's just for you

Or at least leave the teenagers at home they will survive, or learn something.

Well ...... Audi made a mess of my order and the wrong colour has arrived in the UK, and so I have cancelled and am now looking around at options. In the few months since I ordered I have begun to think the S4 isn't quite right for me so have looked once more at Merc's, specifically E43 AMG and E63 AMG, both or which are superb inside. The 43 is quick but very smooth and not overly aggressive, whereas the 63 is amazing and sounds like a true V8 beast that is it. Much more expensive but I am tempted. I've also looked again at a Panamera but can't quite bring myself to get something that is slower than my SQ.
No decision made yet so the SQ stays for a little while longer.

What colour did you order, and what was delivered?

Just stick with the SQ - it's a sign

Well.. I ordered Misano red, but was advised I had a lot of time to change my mind so after 1 week I changed it to Navarra blue. Received email saying fine that's changed no problem. 6 weeks later and just before car leaves Germany I got email saying it's too late to change.. So it seems the dealer did not make the request when I asked and so 6 weeks later when it is being built it is too late.. I saw that as a sign it was not meant to be so have pulled the plug.. And am now looking around again....

Somewhat leftfield, but have just dropped deposit on one of the last UK Panamera 4s Diesels. Carmine red, looks the business and I was so surprised at how amazing the 4.0 bi-turbo diesel is. Essentially the same engine as in the SQ7. I spent a day with an E63s and it was awesome, but the Pan is close on speed, better on refinement and looks so special.. Very happy, but bank balance severely dented. Luckily swmbo was in favour
