Had a BMW 1ner before, but need something more as it would become a higher used car now since I'd be driving to work, wanted to do more road trips and wanted more space.

For me it went up against the Macan (which was the initial deposit car), but after looking into the SQ5 it really was a no brainer.
This was interesting because I keep getting asked why I went with the SQ5 over the Macan.

It comes down to the following things really:

• Firstly the Plus model had only just got announced - So new'ish model
• By far faster and more torquey than the Macan S Diesel and basically as fast as a Turbo S.
• Far more leg and head room in the rear (especially if spec'd with the rear bench plus)
• Price - Same spec model is about 10K more
• Waiting time about 7/8 months
• Huge discount verses none from Porsche
• Superb design and build quality
• Now has a rear differential - which was the only area where Macan was better, now probably on par

These where just the main points for me, the standard/obvious ones have been cover by cashy2000

For me it was the following:

- running costs
- fuel economy
- speed / performance
- quality
- good size
- very good price / discount
