first car was a cardinal red ford fiesta flair, 1.1L engine, total plastic interior but it got my to uni and back every term and did the booze run to my mate who was security man at night in a well known brewery in Cork. I managed to get pulled doing a ton by a cop in a sierra who knew my dad so no ticket but was warned to confess to the old man or else. My dad never said a word. Shame it went through a wall into a farmers field when the brakes failed!! Luckly I was a few scratches and that was the end of the car and my rallying days o back on trains as punishment!
A year later when I graduated from Sandhurst I had a mental fit and bought a 1980s alfa remeo spider, it broke my heart more than my ex-wife as well as giving hours of fun to my troup, who openly called it a pile of shit Sir, and yes it really was.
Many better cars later I bought an A3 and the love affair with Audi began and I met my wife, had kids and got fat, bald and bought a Q5.
