mine was a yugo zastava ,with no 1st or reverse gear ,or working radio ????

If I tried to accelerate hard - yes, really! - the throttle cable would come out of the groove in the carburettor actuating quadrant, and I'd just get an idling engine. I once accelerated from the tolls at a toll bridge, cable came off and to avoid a £50 towing charge, I had to continue driving on the choke alone at 20mph
