To help me with some decisions.

Has any got the adaptable suspension package? or driven a car with it fitted? Worthy addition or not?

Hi Josh
we have the adaptable suspension, only 600 miles on the clock so a little early to tell how good/bad value it is. At least the wife is not feeling car sick with it set to "auto", had a little go on "Dynamic" and it certainly firmed things ip if you are "moving on!"
We have the B&O
worth every penny
Not too sure on the advanced parking - bit gimmicky but really good for lining up the towbar
Towbar, if you need one get the factory jobbie - excellent build and hides away when not in use
The one thing I wish we had ordered was the lighting package - we have no "puddle jumper" lights in the bottom of the doors and no Lipstick lights above the interior mirrors
Love using the adaptive cruise

advanced key is great

we have the Homelink but not had time to set it up yet
Power tailgate - bit gimmicky - not sure about it yet
Panoramic roof is good
High beam is excellent and works alot better than I expected

Only had the "low" telephone prep using bluetooth - but again it all works brilliantly and no one can tell any difference in call quality

Load area fixing kit - works well

Load partition net is a bit naff compared to our previous Audi witch had a roller blind version

There is a bit for you to mull over

B+O and Pano glass should be definites...

Hill hold assist and high beam assist are pretty pointless. Both work OK, but you just don't really need them.

Tailgate is good, but again, you'll live without it and never care...

I ordered an S-Line without the adaptive suspension and cannot imagine why it would be needed. Car is perfectly comfortable driven on any surface, and suspension is stiff enough (without being harsh) to really throw the car around if required. I am on the 20" tyres too.

If you have an S-Line (for the headlights and seats) and you order sound and glass roof, you will not be disappointed!

As Kscun says, if you need a towbar, get the factory job...I didn't, and wish I had

Thanks. Keep the info coming.

I read somewhere on the web that if you have the S line then the adaptive suspension is pointless as you can't make a firm sporty ride on 20" wheels any softer even if you wanted to because there is not enough rubber (which kinda makes sense). I hope the Dealer can answer the question on Tuesday.

I WILL be going for the S Line but on 19" wheels.

The options I've ordered are:-

Nappa leather
Advanced key
Adaptive headlights
Collapseable spare wheel
Under floor storage tray
Interior Lighting pack
Memory pack electric front seats and mirrors etc
Heated front seats
Rear seat bench plus
2 year warranty extension
Audi drive select - damping control and dynamic steering
Rear airbags
Dark tinted glass
Panoramic sunroof
trailer hitch
Comfort pack
Ordered seperately B&O and DAB at sound pack price.
Tech pack UK
Parking aid advanced
Load floor mat
Hill hold assist
Carbon Atlas inlays

Ordered on 30/04/10

Well been and had a look this morning. My wife likes the Q5 so looks like we will be going ahead.

Still to test drive but can't really see that a drive will change my mind.

Looking for a December delivery to fit in with my long term plans, so I've got time to get it right. Dealer seems to think with current delivery times we won't be far off....plus you have to remember Germany goes on holiday in July and August and all factories close down.

So after my initial thoughts I will instead go for the S Line 3.0 TDI Tiptronic on 19" wheels in Daytona Grey. Plus my edited list of extras as per the above list.

One question...For those of you with the S Line.....Did you keep the aluminium trim? I noticed in the demonstrator that it had scratched. Any thoughts on whether it will last the test of time?

I was wondering if Piano black would wear better or whether it would be too much black inside and the aluminium brightens it up?

Also do you get floor mats included or is that an extra as well?

Hi Josh, My wife has an A3 black edition with piano black inlays. Looks great and stylish but always have hand marks on them and scratches easily. I reckon the aluminum are more durable.

I would avoid the "Sound Pack UK" if you think you are getting DAB and Bang and Olufsen with that?

See the thread "No B&O Sound System Fitted" - it is an acknowledged (by the dealers and Audi UK) failure in the Audi UK/Audi Germany ordering system !

Thanks for that info.

Yes I do want them. So to get them I need to order individually?

I would consider:
20" rs4 wheels just for the looks alone
acc if you do free flowing motorway miles (also comes with brake guard as standard)

I would avoid:
piano gloss trim which scratches by just looking at it

+1 on the RS wheels - I have them on mine and although they are fairly common across the Audi spectrum, I am very pleased with them. The gaps are big enough to get in and clean all round, including behind the brake caliper.

Don't know what happened to my post to double it up?

Nsm3, Very nice car.
I like the Daytona Grey

I have to admitt the 20" wheels look very smart. But I've got a Range Rover Sport with 20" wheels and air suspension to soak up the bumps at the moment. You have to be so careful with kerbs. Plus they are not so good in the snow compared to 19" wheels.

So with no air suspension on the Q5 I'm sticking with the 19" wheels and higher profile tyres and hope that the dynamic dampers soak up a bit more on rough roads when needed......judging by the current pot holed roads...that could be all the time.

Going to place the order on Tuesday. Thanks for all the tips and help you've given me thus far
