Can anyone help. I have just got my new Q5 and am a bit confused by a feature on the central console by the gear change lever. Next to the gear leave and slightly above are three vertical slots. I can't work out what they are for. My first thought was they were to put coins in, but I've tried pound coins and they are too narrow to fit.

Any ideas what they are for ?

Thanks

Nick

Possibly protecting, but allowing clear air passage around, a temperature sensor for the heating system

Did think about that as the centre of the slots appear to be open to something underneath - just couldn't decide how that would work with 3 zone air-con?

Found It !!!

Here's the answer to the mystery of "The Slots": -

It's also worth a look at the "Did you know...." link at the foot of the page.

Most of the tips will be common across the Audi range.

In particular I like the information on how to quickly re-synchronise the heater controls.

Perhaps a similar "Did you know" section would be useful within this forum
