Hi Adamabz,

Welcome to the site, I can't answer your question as I too have only just ordered one but I would be interested to know the answer. What delivery time have they quoted you?

It maybe worthwhile a mod moving this post to the main thread where you would probably get more views.

I took up the Fixed cost maintenance as I had bad experiences with tyre wear with my VW Touareg - (4 sets in 3 1/2 years. When I PX it for the Q5 another set were due and at around ?850 for 4 (Kwikfit always seemed to have a buy 4 for price of 3 on)I gor a little cheesed off. Once bitten twice shy, especially as I have 20" too !!

I've got no idea on tyre wear on the Q5. Hoping it's not too bad as it's not much heavier than your average car.

But I did have a maintenance contract on the 3 1/2 ton RRS which included tyres. Then I was doing 15K+ miles per year and at ?250 ish for one 20" tyre that only lasted 12 to 13K miles.......I was real glad I opted for that contract. Saved me a fortune :!:

As I'm stopping work I won't be doing high mileage so this time I will probably take a maintenance contract for servicing and wear/tear to spread the cost out. I won't bother with the tyres as I'm expecting a long life out of them.

The trick will be finding out how long the tyres last

Mind you at ?63 a month x 12 = ?756 x 3 years (I presume??) = ?2268. (x5 years = ?3780)

I'm guessing servicing is about ?400 a year. So ?400 x 3 = ?1200 (x5 years = ?2000)

Set of premium tyres ?900 ish. If you only needed one set in 3 years you would be about ?100 worse off. (2 sets in 5 years = ?1800)

But if you needed two sets of tyres in 3 years you would be circa ?800 better off at todays prices.

And over 5 years with 2 sets you'd break even...any more and you'd be a winner again.
