I am waiting delivery of my Q5 hopefully before Christmas to beat the VAT increase.

I have traded in my A3 cab Sline 2.0 tdi - which has had the following issue with the trip computer. Im hoping that the same problem doesn' affect my new Q5..

I run my trip computer from fill up to fill up then reset it. I always fill the tank up to the brim, then i work out my MPG.

On average i get 45 MPG when calculated from fuel used / miles travelled, however over the same trip my computer can register closer to 54MPG... I would expect an element of error, but the discrepency seems very excessive.

Has anyone noticed a similiar discrepency with the Q5.

Regards,

Mark

From my 1st fill up to the warning light coming on. Mixed motorway, town and A roads.

64 Ltrs/15 gals and 580 mls = 38.6 mpg

Trip computer indicated 41.8, so approx 10% out

Once the engine has loosened up hope to get more mpg

This is the 2.0tdi with manual gearbox, whats everone else getting?

Stevepen,

Thank you for your reply...64 litres = 14.09 gallons (not 15 gallons) / 580 miles will give you a return of 41.16 mpg... Very close to yor trip computer reading.

Thats impressive..

My 2014 Q5 now with 2600 miles on it and the 3.0 V6 TDI is getting on average about 35 mpg. When doing a actual miles driven to fuel used it is off about 1.5 mpg so in reality 33.5. This is 60/40 highway to city. I have done a 100 mile trip at a average speed of 50 mph and showed 41 mpg on the trip computer.

No issues for me with repeat thread / revival, new guys want info and old threads aren't always relevant anymore although this one wont change i guess.

My computer is also aprox 10% out and thats from brimming tanks and calcs. Funny but every car other the BM have been out and all of them on the optimistic side

Yup, mine is 10% out too. The Evoque I had was uncannily accurate in the that regard , shame the rest of it couldn't keep up

Wild, my thoughts exactly. BM 328 and 535 both MUCH more accurate.
