I'm comparing Cobratrack 5 against the new Tracker Locate using GPS/GSM/VHF. Where as Cobra just uses GPS/GSM.
Anyone with any experience with Cobra

Thing is, these cars are virtually un-steal-able these days, unless you get car jacked or they break into your house to get your keys.
In the first instance, this would have to happen to you in a car park, unless you turn off the auto lock over 15 mph feature, and you really don't want it to be returned to you after it's been ragged around by some muppet, and in the second if your car keys weren't secured in a safe or something, a number of insurance companies won't pay out.
Thankfully the majority of UK insurers don't insist you have to have trackers on cars of this value.

True but with the advanced key fitted the engine will also run without the key once started!
I've always had Tracker and thankfully never needed it. So peace of mind really when I've leave it parked up in some isolated carpark while I spend a day on the fells.
I can usually get Tracker for a very good price. So that alone may well keep me away from the Cobra system which is very expensive.

I got a quote for Tracker today as a previous customer in anticipation.
They have a loyalty scheme now for returning customers..........so Tracker Reporter @ ?199 plus annual subscription of ?145 beats the Audi cobra 5 system at circa ?1K fitted plus ?250 subscription (from memory) hands down.
I know which one gets my vote.
Will leave some money for a TV and Hifi upgrade in the new year!!!

I meant for the house.
As for tv in the car...I had it in the RRS....waste of money. So not having it in the Q5.
