Hi all
Further to my posts in new member introduction I have an update on my towbar electrics. My Q5 went in to have them sorted only to find Audi had sent the dealer the wrong part. After calling them today for an update I have been told that the wiring has to be changed to make it the equivalent of a dual 7 pin but still with a 13 pin socket. This is to ensure the car does not throw up any faults. They said this would take 3 to 4 days! They are covering the cost but this seems excessive to me. Any thoughts??

Thanks
N

Are you trying to fit the 2, 7pin sockets from the 13 pin socket?

The 13 pin should provide a constant 12V power source (used by the anti snake system (if you have it) and the fridge) By basically adding the missing 12V feed from the white plug, they will effectively be fooling the car into thinking it has a duel plug system.

My only concern is you might not get reversing lights on the van?

Agree , A good auto electrian two hours. 3 to 4 days is ludicrous, and if I was you I'd be telling them so too.
