i know this thread is old but I just upgraded my 2019 Q5 for a 2023, in Canada - snowed a bit in Vancouver. I am finding so far, that my older vehicle handled way better in the snow. Same tires. Maybe I just need to get used to the new car, but it just feels stiffer and it can't handle the small ramp going up into my garage - no problem with the 2019 - both exact same model, just different year

Welcome. I agree with missile. It is most unlikely that the tyres you are using now are identical to the ones you used in 2019. The other factor is that the electronic intervention will be different. Try it in 'offroad' with the esc partially disabled.

I've had a similar experience with my 2020 S-line. However after dialogue with the dealer, it's apparent that it is because of my choice of snow tire size. I chose tires too wide for my winter rims, and the result is terrible handling on ice.

The best car I have seen for snow is the Citroen 2CV. Low torque engine and bicycle wheels/tyres. I forgot, and devoid of any electronic 'aids'.
