Hi just joined the forum loads of useful information, but after reading pretty much every thread i still have some questions.
Yesterday i finally placed my order for a Q5 2.0 TFSI Sline Special Edition 5Dr S-Tronic Have been advised late September for delivery I hope its worth waiting 6 months for!!!

with the following extras.

Electric seats with memory and folding mirrors. Can someone confirm that the mirrors do auto fold when parked.
Front heated seats
Audi Music interface (AMI) Do the cables come standard and is the control the one where the stereo is (just above heating) so that you can navigate through playlists etc, as i am not having the MMI Sat Nav i will not have the button on the centre console by the gear shift.
Spare Tyre
Panaramic Sunroof
Parking System plus
3 Zone climate control
Interior light pack

Is the boot tray standard or an extra?
Rear bench plus, if this is not fitted is there still a rear armrest, and does the bench plus improve the legroom or the boot space?
The electric tailgate, I understand that it can be opened from 3 different buttons but can only be closed from the open boot lid button, this seems odd. If this is the case can it be modified to close with the other 2 buttons.

Here's some of the answers based on my experience with my Q5.

I too have the electric door mirrors with memory function. The mirrors do not automatically fold in when parking, you have to turn the switch in the driver's door handle. I use this for getting into my single garage. Once parked and you go to lock the car you can specify the door mirrors to fold in automatically (I have MMI, I am not sure if this still applies without MMI).

I have the rear bench seat plus, and yes it does come with a centre armrest complete with 2 cup holders. The bench seat option is to improve the boot space by 10cm as when it is slid forward the leg room in the rear becomes quite tight.

The under floor storage tray in the boot is an optional extra as part of the storage pack.

I also have the electric tailgate and the only way to close it electronically is using the button on the tailgate. It is not possible to customise the other buttons to do this.

Thank you Mac, so they do auto fold when you have parked and locked the car (thats what i meant) with MMI, but you are not sure if this feature is abled without MMI.
The bench seat plus, does anyone know if i dont have this option is there still an armrest?

The mirrors autofold (when told to through the mmi) everytime you close the car. When you order memory seats the co-drivers mirror will tilt down when reversing if the mirror knob is pointing to the co-driver mirror. You don't have to set this every time. If you don't order memory seats the tilt function is disabled but can be enabled by vcds.

There should be a usb cable and an ippod/iphone cable included with the ami. I got nothing so had to order and pay for them separately. Make sure to talk to your dealer.

Boot tray is extra as is everything else.

There is an armrest without the bench seat plus but it is not the fancy one with the cup holders. With the bench seat plus you can increase luggage space while decreasing rear legroom by the same amount up to 10cm.

Thank you Q5s i will order the module have you got one? if so was it complicated to fit. i may email them to see if they have a module that will enable the button inside the car to close the boot, as the reason i want the facility is whilst i am sitting in the car and the key will be in the ignition!!

I understand about the auto fold once locked can be programmed via the MMI, but i am not having the MMI so can i still set the mirrors to auto fold??

have now spoken to audi who have explained that MMI is standard on the Q5 and not dependent on Sat Nav so happy days.

love my audi,i think that the mmi is standard as stated but the way you access it is different,maybe wrong but i think if you have the sat nav then you have the selector button installed near the gear stick,if not i think you access it through the radio.
Am still waiting for a build date for mine so i am only going on what i have read

In relation to the controls for the Auto Folding mirrors. There is a position on the drivers door mirror control switch that allows you to fold the mirrors when ever you need, for example when parking in a tight spot. In my experience the switch over rides any settings in the MMI. To allow the mirrors to unfold you have to move the switch away from the folding position.

Nice - I'd really love that engine (and thats the spec and box I will order), but just can't get my head around the real world 20mpg, extra depreciation and thought that no one will want to buy it in 3 years! how did you convince yourself, maybe I can too

Is this module difficult to fit? What's involved in fitting it? The only way to see the fitting instructions is to have ordered it. Would like to know if it was something I would be able to compleat myself. Also do you know if is is the same module for the 2013 Q5?
