I picked up my Q5 on Tuesday and driving home I heard a "ticking" noise as the car was moving. The noise was coming from the rear of the car and sounded fairly central.
I told the dealer and said I would see how it goes for a few days.
Anyway - its still there and a couple of people have said they have heard it from outside the car when I've been setting off.
It gets faster as the car speeds up but seems loudest around 20-30mph.

I got the wife to drive down the road as I ran at the side (not at 20mph though)... and I could clearly hear a dodgy tinny rattling sound that was like tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, getting faster as it sped up.
As far as I could tell it sounded like underneath the rear of the vehicle in the centre somewhere.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

I'm going to call down to the dealer tomorrow

Stones caught in the rear brakes... It happens. You can usually clear by braking in reverse.
If its more central it could be something else though
