I knew I'd read it somewhere:
http://www.hindustantimes.com/Autos/Car-Reviews/Audi-SQ5-TDI-review-test-drive/Article1-962815.aspx

"There's something else that makes the SQ5 fun, and that's the sound the exhaust makes. When you dial up the 'Dynamic' mode on the Drive Select system, a sound actuator in the exhaust system makes this V6 sound like a V8. It's why you'll find yourself constantly pulling away from low speeds in a high gear, just to hear the cultured burble it makes."

The Indian jounalist may have been misinformed however one can't help noticing the rest of the article is well informed and the vehicle was road tested In Germany so probably Euro spec. I have spec'd Drive Select on my order - assuming that all of us with an SQ5 on order have never actually driven one and probably are all expecting the lovely exhaust burble - for ÂŁ220 it's not worth the risk of not having the option...No?

I assumed they were incompatible with the lowered suspension. I'll be pissed of if they are an option in other markets.

I doubt it's part of the "standard" drive select in the UK as its "only" a £220 option. Fr damper jiggery pokery I'm sure Audi UK would look to fleece us a little harder...😳

We just won't know for sure until one of us here in the UK takes delivery. All the cars that were reviewed were press demo vehicles and were pre-production, if you look at the interior shots there are 'Audi Exclusive'badges on the door trims as an example. I'd guess its unlikely that active suspension has become standard unless in final testing ride quality had been found to be unacceptable?

Having a few days off and thus the opportunity to surf 'net and checkout the reviews of the SQ5 TDI - of which as I'm sure you know there are many.

It's curious but there are 2 or 3 reviews out there that make specific reference to Drive Select and being able to tinker with suspension settings - with the observation that the Dynamic mode is hard.

As per my previous post those test cars were pre-production, and some of the 'tests' were just regurgitated 'press pack' output from Audi so virtually valueless - you will note a number of the reports are identical. Some of the pieces are original copy by journos that had actually driven real cars. Well time will tell - mine goes into production next week.
