Is the 3.0 TFSI coming to the UK?
If your journeys are all short then yes go petrol... If you do a lot of long runs then you'll be fine with the SQ5 - and if course the performance is awesome!
I do 2x 5 miles a day in the SQ5 and get terrible economy compared to what it can do on long runs (I get sub 25mpg in the week) - but I don't care about DPF issues, it will have a warranty the whole time I own it.

Well all the press releases last year said the MY13 was coming with four engines, 2.0TDI/TFSI and 3.0TDI/TFSI, and yet here we are at MY14 and no sign of the later.
I wonder if because the Q5 sells so well, and because the 2.0TFSI isn't exactly a slouch they've quietly dropped the 3.0TFSI, especially as of you really want performance you can get the SQ5 anyway.

Probably worth asking a dealer... Tho they will no doubt push you to an SQ5!

I would say if you have a heavy foot then tbh regardless of the type of miles you do the DPF will likely be OK. Not sure how much of it gets blown out of proportion as well, bad news tends to travel a bit too well!!

The articles I read were April 2012 (so before SQ5 announcements) and August 2012 and were referring to the 272bhp detuned version of the 3.0TFSI. Which has been available in the Q5 in the USA and various other territories since MY13. But they were either wrong or Audi dropped it post press release.
