Has anyone tried fitting a spare wheel in the provided boot space? Not the collapsible type but a full size spare.
It certainly doesn't look possible without removing the sub-woofer box so i'm thinking of just carrying the outer tyre.

The worry is that on a long trip you get stranded waiting for the tyres to be ordered in since no-one seems to stock my Michelin Latitude Sport 235/55/19.

IIRC the collapsible spare wheel has a specially shaped sub-woofer box that fits inside the upturned rim of the wheel. I also remember that there wasn't a awful lot of room between the outer edge of the collapsed tyre and the hole in the boot lining in to which it fitted.

Your thought of taking just a full sized spare tyre is a good one. Had I thought of it I would most likely have chosen that route over the collapsible wheel.

Having never change a wheel before is it hard to get a tyre on and off the alloy rim? From my experience with mountain bikes (ok not the same I know) I can't imagine it is that easy and would require several leavers to prize the tyre on and off?

I'd like to just go the spare tyre route also but just want to check what I need and how easy it would be to change this on the rare occasion I need to do so.

Oh and also would this tyre fit in the boot around the sub (standard audi s line sub, not B.O) without ant special specification (such as the collapsable tyre).

Thanks
