Wife has just ordered a Q5 at the weekend. 2.0tdi, Lava Grey, Parking Plus, Cruise control, Privacy glass, Int light pack, heated seats

The one we test drove had the technology pack fitted with 2 SD card slots in the dash. Does anybody know if the spec we?ve ordered comes with an SD card slot as there is no mention of it in the brochure but the A4 the Concert radio comes with an SD card slot? Also is the capacity limited to 4Gb?

Cheers

Hi Pete
The Q5 I road tested had the standard concert radio fitted and it had one SD card slot on the bottom left of the radio.

Hi Peter, I have the standard concert head unit and I have an SD card slot. I'm currently using a 4GB stick but I understand that the latest builds are able to read the SDHC higher capacity ones as well.

I have an early model Q5 (build date 2008) with satnav and 2 SD slots and it takes SDHC without any problems. Currently using a 16 Gb card.
I believe I read somewhere about a limitation on files / folder (I think it was 1000 files/folder and it may have been here http://www.audiforum.us/mmi/ ). It seems plausible as I've experienced the limit myself - playback still works but excessive files are not displayed. I didn't count the visible files to verify the exact limit ;-) just split them up into three folders of about 700 files each and all was well.

Thanks KyuGo.
I must admit I haven't tried a SDHC card yet so good to know I can use one as well.

I was hoping to use a 128 GB SD card rather than purchasing an iPod Classic 160 GB so that all my music can be with me in the car. But I have heard that the Q5 concert audio system can only read cards that are no larger than 32GB. Is this true? My Audi Q5 is a 2012 premium.

My 2011 with HDD Nav reads 32GB SD cards no problem. Not tried any higher because I don't really need much more storage than this.

I'm using 2 32GB cards with no problem. They won't play protected music purchased from iTunes however, if you have any of that. That'll only play from an Apple iPod, iPhone, IPad.
