Dear all
I have ordered a Q5 2.0 TFSI, S-Tronic with Technology pack High.
This i believe comes with the HD Nav rather than the DVD disc. My question is, how do i upgrade the maps on the Navigator, do i need to take into Audi Dealer $$$?

With my DVD navigator in my current BMW, i just buy the latest DVD from ebay
at a fraction of what a BMW dealer charge?!

Any one?

A quick google around suggests it is probably a dealer job via an SD card??? 2009/10 seems to be the latest mapping version. Not sure about system firmware though. I don't think you can just use an up to date DVD from the non HD (High) version. So any hopes of a cheap update, a la BMW, seem to be remote I think.

Any Nav gurus please feel free to chime in/correct

My sales guy said they do it at service for no charge!......but then you know what salesmen are! I'll ask the techs when I'm in next week for TV upgrade, they know most things.

I doubt that very much, DVD based nav owners will need to fork out for a new DVD, i don't see HD nav owners getting a free ride
The dealer will milk us for it

I'm sure your right, but after what he told me, he can pay for it!
How long before it's an on 'on line thing', we're eating in a restaraunt, browsing the free wifi and the car is getting an update paid for by adverts that pop up as you drive along the High Street?.....Heaven forbid.

I have found that the sat nav is useless in London if you use post codes - The only solution I have found is to put London in as the city and then you can enter a district, e.g. Catford or Penge and then you have to find the street. Not good for a two grand sat nav system... lets hope they update it to the full seven digit postcode soon.

Does anyone have any updates from dealers on when we can expect this?

I found out the secret for London - you have to put a space in so the Audi Bromley dealer told me - works fine now. BUT.................

had to go to a funeral the other day in the depths of Kent near Canterbury - I got the post code and town but I was taken by the SAT NAV to a destination some 3 miles away. Big Panic. Searched for the town and found it reprogrammed sat nave excluding post code and drove to town and then looked for signs. Not the sort of thing you needed on an already stressful day.

I never ever encountered problems with my VW sat nav as I have encountered with the Audi one which is meant to be a premier product (not). I guess it's not the first time you have heard of sat navs taking people to the wrong place but it is strange that when I put the post code into streetmap.co.uk it went straight to the correct destination.

Audi please take note !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
