I recently discovered this product by rsnav which gives us the opportunity to radically update the features of the factory entertainment system whilst still giving access to the factory radio and nav etc etc.

Personally I am excited for this for Apple CarPlay and other apps and the 360 camera system!

I am not affiliated with this company, I am a potential customer.

Looks great, but I spot a potential issue.

How do you connect your phone to all the features?.

Android auto & Apple car play, require you to plug your phone in.

Both wont work via bluetooth.

If it's simply via the MMI & it works.

I would buy one now :).

Probably feasible to buy the kit and have a local specialist fit it for you, when they see what's available it will start to become a UK off the shelf item with a price markup to match.

I would like to see a current uk vag specialist who is at the forefront like this. Most of them are still just pushing iPod connectors for MMI owners who are migrating from CD.

Yeah I'm sure I'd get loads of Uk customers seeing as I live in Guernsey, it would be vat free but they'd have to get the car over on a ferry at considerable expense for the work to be done ????

reprising this thread.....

I've just seen this: https://4x4shop.ca/product/2009-2017-audi-q5-came-audi-q5-10-25″-screen-android-gps-wifi-bt-a2dp-usb-multimedianavi-original-oem-fit-replacement-10-25″-screen-androidgpswifibta2dpusb-multi-media/ which looks very much like the RSNAV, but when I asked the website chat about their "RSNAV", they didn't know what I was talking about, so maybe it's a different product?
It looks very good though, and is reduced in price at the moment. Looks like you'd need about 700 USD all in.

Here's the RSNAV for comparison: https://rsnav.com/pr...=31715609313383 - I'm sure that they are the same....

I like a project, and find myself temped by the first link,.....

maybe I'll wait until April 2020 for android 9.0 tho...

Looks like we'll be loosing Google Earth overlay soon so I'd be interested to hear how you get on with this.

I have now bought the rsnav (10.25") and have a box of cables and the screen to install.
I've done plenty of complex installs in the past, including in my own Boxster, but this looks a challenge....

Interested to hear how you progressed?
I contacted a UK supplier who replaces the original MMI screen with Apple car play. I decided that screen would be far too small to be worth the cost.
