I had hoped that I could have ordered a Q5 Hybrid, but they will be coming to the U.S. later this year. I could not wait, so I ordered a Q5 2lt. gas, Premium Plus. Wonderful car. I have been "lusting" for a Hybrid, because I like the technology. However, Edmunds recent test drive says that the Hybrid does not do anything different than my car, except the steering has a different feel.

Anyone out there, in the world, own a Q5 Hybrid, that can give me advice?

1. Did you pay a lot more money, over the cost of a gas Q5 2 lt Premium Plus?
2. What is the mpg spread on city, country, and overall gas mileage?
3. While making a "Green" statement, is it just nothing more than making a statment?

Thanks. Elby

I'm not a fan of hybrids, but have HEARD that they are only of benefit if you are in heavy stop and go traffic, other than that you are paying a $3k premium for something you may not use....

here in the dfw area, I guess I miss most of the traffic and do not see the benefit of it....

An older friend of mine made the green statement a year or so ago with a prius and still complains that it's no more fuel efficient then his regular 4 cylinder...

And we just picked up a 2L and love it - the 8 speed is a marvel !
