I have just took delivery of may Q5 on Friday. The car is fantastic, definiatly made the right choice..

I have a couple of questions:..

1) I did not order a collasible wheel (?110) boot mat (?80) as the car came from dealer stock. About a week before i took delivery i contacted the salesman to get a price for adding these on. I was quoted ?480 for the wheel and ?160 for the boot mat. He said unless the car came from Germany with these options there was nothing he could do...I am very disappointed. Is anyone aware of an alternative option e.g. spare wheel off another model..? Also best place to buy a quality boot mat.

2) Is it possible to disable the safety facility on the DVD player so that it can be used while driving (not for my benifit, for passengers only).

3) Ive only done 300 miles, averageing 33 mpg with very carefull driving. Is this what i should expect.

Best regards,

Mark

Hi Minder,

Not sure about the collapsable wheel to be honest but you can get a rubber boot liner from www.roofbox.co.uk for ?34.95. It is made by autoform, who if we are to believe the blurb on the website make all of the OEM bootliners for Audi, BMW etc.
Product code is ATL04135, but if you just select audi q5 on the homepage it will take you to them.
I haven't taken delivery of my q5 as yet, but will be buying one of these when we get it, as the Audi one costs far too much for what you get.

This is the quote from roofbox

Carbox and Autoform low-sided mats are made from a polypropylene and high density polyethylene compound. This is sufficiently rigid to always stay in position, yet is also shock-proof, odourless, safe for food use, and acid resistant.

The material itself is sufficiently anti-slip that no additional Anti-slip mat is required either on top of or under the mat.

I tried Roofbox but was informed they were out of stock for the Q5 and it would be eight to ten Weeks before they were expecting them back in, so had to purchase the mat from Audi at ?60.00 I don't know if there any differences between the genuine Audi mat and the roofbox one. View attachment 243

Hi Minder
I never ordered the spare wheel either and because I have 20 inch wheels I was worried about getting a spare tyre at short notice. I have michelin latitude sport tyres and found these hard to find at a good price. The tyre dealer said that the tyres are made for the Q5 so they havent been out long and not many places stock them. I have it in my garage but hope not to have to use it. The guy also said that even if the foam is used they could repair a puncture as long as it is not on the side wall.
