Hi,

we have the 143bhp model (just over 1000 miles old now) and find it fine for all types of driving. It's fast enough to get you out of trouble but not to get you stopped by the boys in blue. We recently went away with the kids and a very full boot and it still pulled fine it is also comfortable on the motorway, with hardly any noise and returns around 38-40 mpg based on a mixture of country lanes by our home, b roads and a roads.

Hope that helps

Got My New Q5 last week, loving it so far. Really nice smooth ride, and quite zippy . I have been looking at SD cards, I dont know much about them only that they are a memory card, can anyone advise me on what size is best to get for the Q5 ?. I wondered if you would be able to download from I tunes onto SD card, not sure if you can. I have looked in my handbook and it does not really give much information on the SD card. I also would like to know how easy it is to have a mobile phone connected up to the car as it apparently has the technology already inbuilt, there is a telephone button on my dash, I have a blue tooth phone and would like it connected up if possible. dont know how costly this would be , any advise anyone can give would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi

Glad you are enjoying your car! 4 weeks until mine...

The SD card is a cheap bit of kit, and you can get a 4GB card for next to nothing - this will likely hold as many mp3 tunes as you are likely to need. Audi do quote a maximum size, but I expect 4gb will work fine.

You can export any of your itunes tracks to mp3 from the itunes software, although depending on format you may also just be able to copy them across from your music file without the export process. But as a basic approach, take the albums you want from itunes, export as mp3 to your sd card and pop the card in your car.

With regard telephone, did you specify a telephone option when ordering? Bluetooth as a factory option was about ?245, and with that you will very simply connect your phone via the mmi. If you didn't, have a look at the other recent threads, as audi are quoting ?1000 for retrofit, and other forum users are looking at 3rd party handsfree systems that are cheaper.

I have had a few phone systems installed in audi's and BMW M3's (that use canbus and proprietary systems) that have worked fine, usually installed by sextons.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Hooplescat, I didnt order my car went into showroom in January and bought new one from showroom, It has everything on which I need except the phone, as I say it has the telephone button in car and according to manual it is prepared for phone. I will contact dealer and see what price they come up with , I think that price seems expensive, wont be paying that . I will try to get cheaper somewhere else. I think the dealers charge far too much at times, they just give customers no choice but to go elsewhere. They do lose a lot of revenue because they are too costly.
Many Thanks .
