Well I guess I'm getting a tad excited now.

Got a couple of insurance quotes today......Audi Insurance wins on price and quality of the product.

Ordered a Venture Shield install as well................so no stone chips from new.

What are you paying for the Ventureshield?

I went for Audi Insurance, don't forget to ask for the free ten day cover when your dealer registers the car!

I'll be very interested to see what you think of it, I bought a sample of the vinyl to see how easy it would be to self fit. It was easier than I thought and you can hardly notice it on the bumper!

I was going to have it fitted on day-one of delivery but I couldn't get it organised in time, I think you are doing the right thing - should be a good investment!

I've had the VS on my last two cars. Good stuff.

This will be the first time I will have used this installer....but the price quoted was too
good to turn down. Especially as they are doing the two day install at the Dealers. So I don't have to drive to them and risk picking up a stone chip.

The guy I used previously quoted me ?1200
which I thought was a bit
OTT
Especially given this price at nearly half that.

Also it will be the first time that I've had the full bonnet wrap. But It will get rid of that
slightly visible horizontal line across the bonnet....which I thought would be more noticeable
on the curvy Q5 bonnet. The RRS has a squarer leading edge to the bonnet so I didn't see it.

Personally I wouldn't risk installing this stuff myself. I had a hard enough job putting a screen protector on my iPhone

I agree, it's just that I have short arms and long pockets!
Removing the full bonnet wrap and top of rear bumper takes ?180 of the price.......for the
tight folk like you Hoggy

Changed my mind :!: ......I'm backing my origional installer at the higher price. He's done two of my previous RRS's. Better quality installation over 3 days. He cuts his own templates on site. www.curvaturegroup.co.uk

The most expensive VS installer in the country who specialises in doing high end sports cars (and the odd cheap car for me
). He will only do the install at his premises to assure a high quality install.

No questions asked guarantee. Two types of membrane available.....standard and elite. I suspect my previous cheap quote was for the standard stuff and for a much smaller area to be covered.

So I'm going with:-

VS Elite membrane...full frontal, full front wings, full bonnet wrap, wing mirrors, wheel arches
front and back, door sills, lower side sills, bottom of doors up to the first crease, rear bumper
and rear loading sill. @ ?1527

This will take care of the fact that you can't fit mud flaps to the S line and the fact that I will be keeping this car for a long time stone chip free.

If you want to be really sad Josh - like me - you can track the sailings on marinetraffic.com Look out for ships leaving Emden with the name ending in Highway. Main Highway is in there now bound for Grimsby. They are in and out of there constantly so I don't think it will be long
