Im just curiose to know what type of retention deals had been offered to you guys by Audi after your PCP term has finished.

Currently I have signed a 3year PCP, which after the 3 year period I have been told that I can either buy the car at the GVF or hand back they keys or get into a new Q5 like for like without having to put down a deposit (cars equity + dealers contribution) and continue on exactly same monthly payments.

Cost of the car ÂŁ40,000
Deposit ÂŁ8,500
Term 3years
Monthly payment ÂŁ349.00
Interest @ 3.5%

It would be great to hear from anyone who has upgraded or have experience in this field.

I'd happily continue life in a new Q5 every 3 years with the same payments - but unfortunately as with anything that sounds too good to be true,...

Let me know!

The way that this was explained to me by the business manager at audi was that PCP customers upgrade their cars every 22months (average) it's called a loyalty scheme where PCP clients get profiled for exclusive upgrades. I was showed lots of contracts for existing clients that they have upgraded and guess what.... They have not paid a penny towards their new car. This gave me some confidence in going with audi as apposed to another dealer.

Long as you drive a premium line car that holds good residual value like the q5 sline plus then you can't go wrong

I change my Q5 every 18 months, I'm awaiting my 4th just now. I've paid ÂŁ500 deposit last 2 cars and my PCP payments have went down each month whilst spec of car has risen.

Swany: did you have to negotiate for your payments to be reduced or did they just offer you the deal ? Also how much room does one have to negotiate freebies for upgrades such as heated seats etc......

I just wanted to know what the boundaries are.

From your response you seem to be the best person to ask.

I basically shop around the brokers to check on discounts available then present it to my Dealer. Tell him I'm willing to pay ÂŁ500 deposit today if he can beat my current monthly payment. Last car was ÂŁ18 a month less. New car couple of quid more, but I'm probably going to go elsewhere for PCP as Audi's rate of 7.2% apr isn't competitive.

Swanny - I will need to pick your brains! This sounds awesome.
