Folks

I may be going mad but my car seems able to reduce the volume of the radio (playing media via SD card) when the reversing sensors come on and once you go into neutral or first gear the volume comes back up to what it was .

Has audi really got a system that knows the sensors are activated and then reduces the radio volume down and up again to suit. I assume so you can hear the senor beep.

My car seems to have the extra heater but I can see no physical control on dash but there is info on the MMI screen. Iam not sure it is functioning. It does appera as an option on my car spec sheet which I got from the audi dealer. I did not ask for it but!!!!!!

Car is great and I am really enjoyimg the ride on the Sline sitting on 19 inch wheels

Hi empacher99
The volume reduces on the radio when the bleepers are activated in reverse, this is normal and as for the auxiliary heater it is standard on all diesel Q5s it's an electric heater and if set on Automatic it will come when the temperature outside is low, but you can turn it off in the car menu, it's bottom right of the screen.

The volume being dropped for the parking sensors can bet in a number of places in the MMI. The same setting is used to drop the volume when Sat Nav issues voice commands. Unfortunately it is the same setting, so whatever you set for the Sat Nav it affects the parking sensor setting as well. I think it is called in car fading. If you don't have MMI I think you can change it by putting the car in reverse and then re-setting the volume of the radio via the normal volume knob.

Thanks for the infotmation. It is a nice function to have!

Car off to Lochgilphead tonight about 3 hrs in "running in " mode. It will be my first real run so it will be a nice test if driven at a stately pace. I supect it will be great.
