Outer Rubber Window Seal on new Q5

Would you good folk in this forum with the new style Q5 mind checking something for me please?

When you open and close your windows - can you check if the outer rubber window seal makes contact with the glass and clears any rain/ water on the glass when you then close the windows please?

3 out of my 4 of windows do clear the glass when the window is opened and closed, but on the Drivers Door the rubber does not make contact with the glass (except when fully closed) and when i open and close the window - any surface water is still there and would have to be removed by getting out of the car and wiping it off.

I did take it to my local Audi Garage and they said - "this is normal and within parameters - there is no requirement for the window seals to clear any water from the glass when opened and closed".

Given 3 out of my 4 windows do clear the glass, given my previous two old style Q5's cleared the glass, and given EVERY other car i have ever owned in the past 30 years have all cleared the glass - I am not convinced by Audi's denial that this is an issue.

Please let me know how you get on, thank you.

Apologies for bringing back an older thread, but I'm on the lookout for similar information, and I thought I could share my two cents. It's definitely frustrating when the outer rubber window seal doesn't clear the water on the glass when you open and close the windows. I've had experiences with other cars where the seals did clear the water. It's strange that your Audi dealership claims it's normal for the seal not to clear the water. From your description, it seems like it might be worth getting a second opinion or reaching out to other Q5 owners to see if they've encountered the same issue. Sometimes, different dealerships.

Have you tried cleaning and lubricating the seal?

None of the windows are cleared on my new Q5 but on my previous Q3 they were all cleared. I have a few niggles with the Q5 but on my planet, life's too short.
