Initially told by local dealer wait would be 8 months, looked elsewhere and then told it would be 5 months!
Desired SQS disregarded as too fast for Island roads!
Settled for 2.0 TDI S Line Plus auto , heated seats, rear bench plus, 20 inch twin spoke off road etc etc

Gone for moonlight blue rather than scuba, any views?

Great posts on here, really helpful thanks.

Regarding delivery I just have a desired delivery of 28/04/2014. Does that mean anything at all?

Hi, welcome to this great forum. Your delivery date sounds reasonable....subject to price. I'm a grey sort of guy, so my preference is Daytona. Worth also considering adaptive xenon option, advanced parking and key in IMO. Good choice of alloys.

Five months seems about right.

I ordered last weekend in September, with Build Week 4 and got a "Status 40" (in UK port), last week.

Have chosen to collect three weeks today (3rd March), although I could have had it a bit sooner.....

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a 'Status 40'?

Is there a way to track your delivery once built?

It's what the dealer told me last week (they can track the order through Audi UK, I believe and I assume it goes through a number of different statuses).

All he had to say was "it's in the UK", but he said "it's Status 40" too.......

Status 10 - has a rough week number
Status 20 - your week no has been confirmed
Status 30 - parts gathering
Status 38 - the car has been built
Status 39 - its on the train to Emden in Germany (not long now)
Status 40 - it is at UK port (Sheerness, Grimsby or Tyne). Yours is off to Grimsby.
Status 50 - transport to dealer
Status 70 - Dealer.

And the fact my dealer is 27 miles from Grimsby has no bearing on delivery time to the dealer!

Well not really - its more related to the order they get shipped from the port. The time on he back of a transporter is always 1-2 days wherever its going, how long it takes from ship to transporter is 1-7 days(ish).
