Hi Guys, we've had a note from the dealers today saying the Q5 has been confirmed my the factory. Sorry if this has been asked before, but what exactly does that mean, should it now have a build date?

We were expecting it Aug/Sept, is that still going to be the time we're likely to get it?

Hi

This normally means your car is active on the production build - from now, the dealer can get confirmed build dates and hence confirm more accurate delivery dates

think that means that factory has your order,i ordered mine 6th feb and have an unconfirmed build week 25th june.but that can still change until confirmed.once confirmed the dealer should be able to pinpoint exact delivery/collection date.

Hi all,

Spoke to dealer today to see if they have any idea's of a build date. Was told its got a build week of week 20, which by my reconing is week commencing 17th May. Am i right in saying it takes about 3-4 weeks to build and ship and get to customer?

We ordered it in Jan and made a spec change in Feb, we were told it would be here Aug/Sept. So we were going to wait for a the new registration in Sept. We were also told that all production is full up to June, so our car will be the new spec, I was told today that it wont be 2011 spec, it'll be the current 2010 spec. Dealer said they know of no change to the Q5's spec this year.

Has anyone else been told of a much earlier build date?
Can we delay it till 1st Sept for the new reg?

got an email from the dealer today, told me a 25 week build , should be built at end of june, due in Aug,

does this mean i get the 2010 or 2011 spec??

Hi,

I was given a build week of 21 a couple of weeks ago but have just been told by the dealer that I am on the factory system with a build week of 28

He also said that once you are on the system you will not slip back anymore but it is possible to come forward - anyone else had this? He was also pretty adamant that with a build week of 28 that I will get my car in July - fingers crossed.

I was given build week 19, but I collected last week (16/17) - so they do generally improve I think?

Thanks for that - even a two or three week improvement would be nice.
