Hi. I'm looking at ordering a new Q5, but am at a loss to which options to get, or even the engine. Is the 2.0 TDI better to get than the 3.o ? Also is the HDD Sat Nav worth ?1900 odd quid, compared to a Tom Tom with bluetooth? What other options do you think are, or are not worth getting. Thanks in anticipation, Rob

Would defo go for spare wheel, personally not sure about sat nav, something i would never go for.you could always go for bluetooth prep in the car which would give a better system.
The 1900 you save on sat nav you could upgrade with a few more goodies.DAB,B&O system. At the end of the day its all down to personal preference. As for engine size i thin k it depends on what you really want to do,the 3.0 tdi will give you higher top speed and quicker acceleration, more pulling power.

I would definitely get the S tronic and at least the 170bhp 2.0ltr, I have the 2.0 ltr and I find it quite sluggish compared to my old 2.0 A4 avant - down to the weight I guess.

Options I would recommend would be: hill start, bluetooth, ipod connection - though you can get usb connector if you want to use a portable hard drive or other mp3 player), lighting pack (gives the car a bit of class, lots of led lights around the car), auto dipping lights - i didn't get this but wish i had. Sliding back seats - really useful as you can also tilt the back seats very slightly. I got the full climate control with separate control for driver and front passenger - my wife likes it hotter than me and it makes a difference, plus you get extra vents for the back seat passengers. I got the storage pack, and while it's not up to much i like having something under the seats than nothing at all, my previous audis used to have a pull out drawer which was much more useful.

Also heated seats are useful, I've used mine every morning from october through to april. I would love to have been able to afford the sat nav, but when I look at what my iphone can do for a couple of hundred ?s the audi sat nav is not as smart as it looks - though i suppose it doesn't have the advantage of 3g/wireless connection! The fact it can't do full Uk post codes is a bit of a deal breaker for me, that and the fact it doesn't get updated too often is not so good, but i'm sure there plenty of owners on this forum who would disagree - i'm just jealous I guess!!!!

Hope some of that was slightly useful, oh and don't forget privacy glass!

Checkout the Special Edition and contrast and compare. If you can afford it I would go for the electric seats - I didn't and I really wish I had !!

Spare wheel is a must - expensive to add afterwards - be warned.

Here is a web site that tells you pretty much what you can always add later if you wish you had it http://www.audiretrofit.com/www.audiretrofit.coms/info.php?p=1&pno=0

Sadly not much good to me cos i just ticked most things

But from what others have said....spare wheel, lighting pack, full electric/memory seat pack, hill start, privacy glass, tow bar (if you think you might want to use bike rack or tow), if you can stretch to it the panoramic roof is cool
etc etc

The engine is a hard one to advise....I just knew I couldn't say no to the 3.0tdi having come from a 3.6 TDV8 twin turbo jobby.
