I still love it, the stiff ride I am used to know, no major problems except the woeful fuel consumption, I get 28 mpg on motorways and 20 round town.

Just had the 1st service (oil change) and that cost ?150 which was not too bad.

Only done 5000 miles, love the s-tronic box, its much quicker than my old Q7, I do miss the presence of the Q7, but love the LEDs on the car.

MMI Jukebox - best invention ever, and even the DVD drive is great when I am waiting in the car with the kids and I put on Peppa Pig and that keeps them quiet !

The Speaker Grill on the dash is still warped and its now my 3rd one and looks no better

Reverse Camera works really well and great for tight parking spaces

The Autoglym lifeshine has lasted well, I only reapply every 6 months and being a smaller size the Q5 only takes an hour to polish properly, the Q7 took me 2 !

Reliability is excellent and have had nothing mechanical wrong with the car

Only one curbed alloy (was the wife honest!)

Any questions let me know

Rahoo,

Are you saying it was only 5000 miles for an Oil Service, that seems a tad low, my lovely shiny new Q5 is showing 15,000 miles before its first trip to the oilers.

Where did you go for a ?150 oil change, Bedford Audi quoted me ?220, which I thought was a tad steep.

Q5 is not on AVS, so it was the annual service that popped up on my dash, got mine done at Bexley Audi, and the car was nice and shiny afterwards !

Are you saying the Q5's in general don't do AVS or yours in particular isn't on it?

My A3 is on AVS but never thought to check it before ordering?

My order form had the option for annual or variable. It should be a simple change but I would bet Audi will charge an arm and leg for doing it!

I asked for variable - so now I am thinking, when I get the car how do I check that it set correctly?

i wasn't even aware it was on annual until the dashboard lit up, if you are a low mileage user apparantly its cheaper in the long run than having AVS. You can check through the MMI when the next service is due through car set up....

Its the first audi I have had since my audi 80 cab ( 1997) to come without AVS, I have had an S3, TTR, Allroad and Q7 all on AVS
