Hi All
What a difference Kaine has made to the site, well done him.
Has anyone experienced a cracking noise from just under the seats when going round to the left and right? thought it might be that plastic tray under the car thats flexing or could be the doors, i have put grease on the door latches but this has made no difference to the noise, as i say it's only when turning the car that you can hear this cracking noise, may be it's not the car may be it's my old bones cracking, don't think i will be taking the car back to the dealers for that probably wait until it's service.

Not any help I know - but I have just driven home via some rutted country roads with the stereo off - just to test the car for rattles/squeaks etc - not a single one.

I know it is brand new and that could change over time of course, but the point is - they can run rattle/squeak/click free, so no reason for yours not to - the problem is getting the dealer techs (who possibly won't give a toss) to find it - I would be tempted to track it down myself - at least if you can point them at the problem, there is some chance they will fix it?

Hi Bill,
Almost immediately after taking delivery of my S-Line I noticed a 'creaking' noise coming from the driver?s seat. The noise was particularly evident when depressing the clutch pedal.
The source of the creaking turned out to be the sliding mechanism of the thigh support when it was in the extended position.

I managed to cure the creaking by spraying some PTFE lubricant onto the plastic sliding mechanism underneath. I decided to use PTFE since it is generally safe on plastics and, being a dry lubricant, it won?t attract dust.

Bill, I don?t know if the noise you have in your Q5 is the same as mine but it may be worth doing a couple of test runs: one with the thigh support extended and one with the support retracted.
This should help confirm, or otherwise, if the noise is coming from this part of the drivers seat.

Good luck in tracking down the source of the noise

Hi All
Thanks for your findings but none got rid of my noise, but i have finally tracked them down and got ride of them! the noise was coming from the plastic trim around the rear doors, so when going round a roundabout the body must be flexing and the plastic trim moving slightly, all it took to fix the noise was a little silicon just under the joint where the plastic trim from the centre pillar covers the trim from the rear seat just inside the rear doors.

Had this issue after 3 days of driving. Brought it to the dealer service shop and they knww exactly what I was talking about. Put a felt tape between the pillar and the door. I was shown the plastic and the metal contact between the b pillar and the car frame which caused it.

2nd noise complaint I had was a noise apparent from stop to acceleration. A metal sound like rubbing each other. I played the video I recorded earlier. They acknowledged the noise. They fixed it. Apparently it came from the sunroof. Something to do with the bolts. I have the car back for a day now. They had my car for 2 days for the repairs. Let's see if those noises do not come back.
