AudiSQ5 2017

Just had my service in October(2yr). Post service I noticed that my maps were no longer google earth and instead using the standard maps.

Rang the service guys who said that it was Google that no longer supports the service for any vehicle under 2019!

Even if I go into the map settings, then select Satellite instead of standard and hit the back button. The menu option reverts back to standard.

Anyone else experienced this? Service guy said it was just coincidence that they had updated the MMI and then google earth didn't work anymore?
Btw. My SIM card in the glove box is still in date and has plenty of data.

A piece of info on the US 2018 Audi Q5 website makes the following statement:

Quote:

Navigation & online services
Online services are subject to change at any time. Google Earth™ features will not be available after December 2020 for Model Year 2018 and previous Model Year vehicles. "Google Earth" is a trademark of Google Inc.

Heard about this a while back, not too happy as it's the only feature I use 'connect' for. Mine were still working yesterday though.
