Not surprised.
The french model seems to be lets just copy something someone else has done.

I'd rather catch public transport than buy french rubbish.
I would never buy one of these (or any other model from their range) regardless of how much they believe they are pushing the brand up market

I do like the new ford capri at the bottom of the page though... (not in orange!)

Q5 not listed in top 10 4x4s.

Well I've just picked up my new Q5 today and would have very very disappointed if I'd collected a car that looked like the Pug.

Snowman the X5 just about scraped in at 10th and I've had every model for 10 years...to be told that it is below a Land Cruiser which my neighbour has and is twice the size of the eiffel tower I can't believe that.
Completely agrees with, I think it was Jose's point about how some magazines have favourites or are actually being 'bribed' by the car makers. Bollocks!

I just don't think thats the case,
VW group/brands are big into spending money on advertising - so if this was the case (cash for reviews) then Audi would be winning every test. the issue is Audi are very dull from a steering point of view and quattro impacts the dynamics.

The reviewers 'may' have favourites, but i don't believe it systematic or endemic at the magazine level.
Q5 does as well as it does bad in reviews. OK its not a sports car, the X5 might be better, the Evoque seems to beat it at every test - but thats a much newer design.

You are too fair Snowman, you gotta fight for your car ;-)
But of course I do see what you mean, the steering was a tiny bit dull but that seems to be 'typical Audi' and so they are discriminated for that, however doesn't stop the fact that they are brilliant cars with great styling and engines.

lol, people get drawn into the whole measuring of a car and the importance of tests, reviews.
I don't need a magazine to support my views/buying decisions, i just buy what works for me.

Looks and the individual features of cars are all subjective and we all place difference values on individual trates so while im more than happy for a reviewer/magazine to say X or Y is better, from who's perspective and do we have similar needs?

Very few things with cars have a definitive measures.
0-60 or performance is one i guess, as are the running costs inc deprecation.
Everything else is subject, so i don't get emotional about their opinions (and thats all they are).
