Hi All

I've taken delivery of a new Q5 Tdi Sline with a bunch of extras. One of them was the AMI which was an added option.
When I picked it up, the dealer showed me the Ipod cable and demo'd it, I asked about an MP3 usb cable and he said it doesn't come with one.

I was trying to find Audi Rubber mats this evening and went through the pricelsit pdf on the Audi website and notice the AMI option clears says Provided with 2 AMI cables - One for Ipod and one for MP3 USB.

Can anyone tell me if they have had one cable only and if so was it just the Ipod.

I ask cos, I have a Blackberry and the missus has the Ipod so I will have to buy the usb version. Haven't got an idea of how much they are, but knowing Audi, they can't be cheap. - any pointers ?

Mine came with two cables. One for Ipod and a USB for other MP3 players.

Hi - I clearly wasn't as astute as you but I recall being offered a choice of a single cable for the iPOD (depending on the version of iPOD) and not anything more.

Like j2910, I received two cables with my Q5 w/ AMI - one for the iPod and the other for MP3 players with a USB interface.

Where in Surrey are you? I got my Q5 at Audi Guildford.

it depends evidently from country to country : here in Belgium the MP3/usb cable is delivered, but you have to pay for the specific iPod cable (Apple is not so common as in UK...) otherwise you can't use the iPod through the MMI (only then via Aux)

I haven't ordered this option myself but I've just referred to the brochure (UK) and read the AMI option description. It states "...Includes 2 cables to connect your iPod and USB MP3 device." The description ends with the sentance "Please consult your Audi Centre for details."

I would be demanding 2 cables if I had ordered this and subsequently only received the 1cable. And if the final sentance relates to selecting an option from the 2 cables, it shouldn't be for the customer to clarify this, so again I would be demanding both cables.

I also spotted that in the brochure, and prompted the dealer pre-delivery - ipod cable duly supplied. However, I got the impression that this is a bit of a mistake in the brochure, as they don't normally supply the cables with other models.

A bit rich, IMHO, but typically Audi....

The USB cable is the same as the USB port on a PC, it enables you to plug in a standard USB cable.

Picked up my car last Friday and there were two cables. One for the ipod and one large usb. I did not have to ask for them they were ready and waiting with the car.

If the connection is a mini usb you can easily get a standard to mini converter.

Don't think it's that simple to be honest. I should have thought that they are made specifically made for VAG.
