At last picked up my new car yesterday from Glasgow Audi just in time to hit the rush hour traffic, but first impressions are I love it and the drive select is fantastic, SD Card works well and the running LED lights make the car stand out in the crowd.
Not much wind noise from those large mirrors which was surprising, one thing was the size of those under seat storage compartments, very small hardly worth having, will hold a pair of glasses or your phone charger but thats about it.

Great news Bill. Sounds like the long long wait might have been worth it!

I read that you were collecting yesterday so I was wondering how yo got on!

My Q5 was on its way to Guildford Audi yesterday so hopefully will have it very soon.

Thanks All, the under seat storage is part of the storage pack option I ordered, the rest of the package its fine but after having the Golf under seat storage these was a bit disappointing but the car was well worth the wait.
Got a surprise this morning when I started it from cold, heat came through the vents right away, looking at the manual it seams to have an extra diesel heater under the bonnet,
that's a bonus.

Hi Bill,

Congrat's on the new arrival

You'll have to post some pictures ???

I'm now celebrating my 2 week birthday and must say.... I'm really chuffed to bits !
650 miles of gentle running in, but i think i might let loose some horses this weekend.....

It's interesting to see what options people have added that Audi seem to scrimp on. I saw the storage pack option, but thought it was only for the boot space ! I also appear to be missing drinks holders on the rear arm rest..... Wonder what else I'm missing

Congrat's again.
Cheers,

Mike.

Thanks Mike will post some pictures soon, and again the rear cup holders are an option along with the load through hatch behind the arm rest. I cannot understand why most of these options are not included in the price? you don't even get a illuminated vanity mirror unless you opt for the interior light package at ?155.
Come on Audi
you don't have to pay extra for that option on a Skoda.
I tried to get a rear load rubber mat from roofbox like Steve but they were out of stock and they were not expecting them back for at least two month so had to pay the ?20 extra and purchase one from Audi probably the same mat
Ha ho thats the way it goes,
Thanks again
Bill

Hi Bill

Well done !

Are those under seat pockets standard? i've never even looked

Happy motoring
No, and if you have the driver's seat memory option they nick one storage compartment off you!

Hi Bill,

I collected my Q5 yesterday and I'm chuffed to bits with it.

One question on your Drive Select. I seem to recall you ordered Drive Select with Damper Control only, as did I.

I've noticed that the Drive Select makes quite a big difference to steering and in the MMI when I customise the "Individual" mode (which I don't think yours has, from looking at your picture), I can adjust not only damper and acceleration (as I'd expect) but steering too (which I wouldn't). On comfort mode, the steering wheel is very easy to turn; on auto it's slightly stiffer and on dynamic mode, it's noticeably stiffer. I've not had the car long enough to tell if the steering ratio is being adjusted, but in a car park it does feel quite easy to go from full lock one side to full lock the other. I'm not sure whether this is just down to the Drive Select adjusting the power assisted steering or whether I have been given the Full Drive Select package, rather than just Damper Control, by mistake.

So, the question I have is if you change between the Drive Select options, can you tell any difference to the steering?

Have to say that the Damper Control is excellent. Went along a section of road with speed bumps twice - once on Comfort and a second time on Dynamic, and the difference was quite amazing. I'm on 19" wheels with SE suspension.

UPDATE: I've just had a look in the Q5 manual and it seems steering and gearbox options in the MMI are standard to all Drive Select configurations. On Full Drive Select, there is an additional "dynamic steering" option on the MMI. So, I haven't been given full Drive Select by mistake!

Hi Mark
Yes my steering is affected by the position of the drive select as is the throttle response, I have found I prefer to have it on Auto most of the time as that combination of ride and throttle response is very comfortable, but if you are on a twisty road it's better on the Dynamic setting to cope with the bends, I haven't used the comfort setting as much, but on that setting the car just floats over the bumps. I believe if you only have the damper Drive select and not the full package (Dynamic Steering) you cannot set up your personal settings on the screen, but to me the Dynamic steering option would have been a waste of money.

Hi Again Mark
What I meant to say was as I only have the standard radio I cannot set individual personal settings of the Drive select on the screen, as you have the MMI setup you will be able to carry out they function, but the Auto position which the car selects every time the IG is switched on is perfect for me considering the S-Line has the sport suspension.
Glad to hear you got your car and like it as much as me, no doubt there will be other things to discuss in the future like having the tail lights come on with the front LED DRL?

Great car Bill, do you also have some interieur pictures... maybe a strange question but are the door-armrest (don't know the exact word) where they put the buttons for the windows also from leather?

Thanks to Mark's and your information about AudiDriveSelect i deleted last week my full package Audi Drive Select, instead I ordered Audi Drive Select with damper control, B&O Soundsystem and collapsible sparewheel.

Sorry for my English, i'm from The Netherlands.

Hi Rene

No the door arm rests are not in leather and all the window control switches and door mirror switches are situated in the drivers side arm rest. It does show leather in the brochure but may be this is the nappa leather option or it's for the American market only?
Have attached three interior clips for you to check out.
