Hi All,

I have got mobile prep high 9ZW which I am using with iphone and have a couple of issues. Firstly I have previously posted a picture of the cradle base which has been fitted in centre armrest which I have been advised by dealer has now been picked up by Audi as a build error. I understand that a retrofit option will be available to change the centre armrest and remove redundant cradle. No timescales yet however! I have been told all 9ZW orders have been coming with this 'extra'.

Secondly, during a phone call, if the call volume is raised (for instance when traveling as speed), this automatically increases the ringtone volume, meaning when the next incoming call is received the ringtone plays a 'shocking' volume. It really makes you jump. One of my dealers master techs had a look at it this morning and is due to get back to me.

The effect is the same with iphone connected via bluetooth or a SIM slotted directly into dash.

Just curious if anyone else is having the same problem or is it specific to my config. 9ZW mobile prep high, QU1 TV, 9VK B&O, UF7 AMI, Tech Pack PNG

Same 2 issues here, got mobile prep high and have a plastic cradle in the centre armrest that serves no purpose.

And no matter how many times I adjust down the telephone ringer volume, when someone calls me the volume is obscenely high!!!

Be interested to hear what your dealer says...

Hi All,

No resolution to problems yet, but have been told by my dealer that Audi UK are aware of both issues.

Armrest will be dealt with by a retrofit option at some stage in future.

The phone volume issue is supposed to be resolved by a future firmware update which will give separate and independent volume control of ringtone and voice playback. I have been given no timescales yet. It is a shame because other than these two issues I am very pleased with the car in every other aspect. It is such a pain manually adjusting ringtone volume after every call.

It would be interesting to hear what other dealers have to say.................

I had mine in the garage today, they were looking at this issue. Despite me telling them of the findings here, they insisted they could fix it.

Well they couldn't and surprise surprise they said it needs a soft wear upgrade which is not available!

The slightly more interesting point was that Audi (Germany) said they were unaware of a problem with the phone system when the car had the sat nav and I am the first in the UK to have this problem!

Anyway they said they would try and resolve the problems in the next month!

Interesting. Mine was in to dealer last week for another unrelated issue and I had pretty much the same story. Technician said he would look at armrest to see if it was possible to remove phone holder and was going to have a play with the ringtone to see if any adjustments could be made.

I didn't get a chance to speak with him when I collected the car, but feedback was neither issue could be resolved in house.

I kind of get the impression that these issues will only to be resolved by Audi Germany dependent on the number of vehicles with this build and the number of owners who continue to complain.

Let us know how you get on!!

Just had the MMI firmware update today and now have separate volume controls for ringtone and telephone volume.

Volume problem sorted!

Just waiting for resolution to armrest now!

I'm having the same issue with my HTC Touch HD on bluetooth. What is your MMI version after the update?
I wish there was an easy way to keep track of MMI releases, or even better, somewhere to download the updates.
