Hi
I recently left a passenger in the car whilst I went into a shop. As I walked off I accidentally locked the car. When I came back the passenger was somewhat upset as they couldn't open the car doors from inside.

Anyone know if this is possible and if so how in an emergency situation?

Thanks

There is not a possibility if you have locked with a key or remote.
This is Audi system to protect against theft when the burglar smashed glass that can not open the door.
Do not lock your car with a remote or keys.
Leave it to people who were in the car to lock the doors
Sorry for my english

Exactly all modern cars now deadlock when you lock the door to stop such an event. I think this is part of the thatcham requirements in the UK.
