I've refurbished my alloys and now my calipers look rusty as all hell...

I had a similar feeling about my calipers. I purchased some silver metal paint for £3, some S Line decals from ebay for £5 and spent a couple of hours tidying them up. Its not a perfect finish but as long as you don't stick your head between the wheel spokes it cant be noticed. More than happy with the result for the negligible cost.
