Now I know Diesel engines are supposed to sound like tractors, but to me my 2 month old new Q5 seems to sound quite more rattly than the 09 plate with 80000 on the clock I traded.

It could be perception but I'm sure my old one sounded smoother.
The new one rattles a bit when under reasonable acceleration in each gear.

I'm no expert on engines but could it be an injector(s) at fault or injector timing. It is definitely heard in the cabin but totally smooth on light throttle and overrun.

Took in in to AUDI for a quick opinion of a technician who works with them all the time. Said it was quite normal and like all others. So it must be me being hyper sensitive. So used to the silent tick over of my 3.2 TT. Funny it was much quieter once I put the radio on!!!
