Hi and sorry for the delay in updating, yes it was the controller unit, had an Auto Electrician J S Rusforths (Halifax, West Yorkshire Area) he came out said he has seen it before on anotherQ5 recently. He purchased the part from Audi all in all a little over £200 and it was fixed. Fast and Efficient, 2 call outs done at home 1 to inspect/diagnose and 2 to fit the part and test. Still working to date; so happy with the overall results since Audi we adamant a replacement headlight was required.

Thanks
Simon
Hi Simon,

Did the Auto Electrician remove the front bumper and headlight to install the LED control module or was he able to install the module without removing the front bumper and headlight. This information would be really useful to know, thank you.

He didn't remove the bumper may have slackened the headlight but it didn't take him long; I have replaced the xenon bulbs myself in the past and know what a bast4rd they to remove one of them we had to remove the bumper slightly to gain access

Hope that's helpful enough
Hi Simon,

Thank you for your reply and information. It appears our drivers side module is on its way out, the DLR LED's are flickering with an occasional dashboard warning light. I will do the work myself, just needed to know what was involved to complete the job. Do you know if the LED control module is mounted inside or on the outside of the headlight shell?

Best regards,

Peter T.
