So my Audi Q5, 2015 is a pretty decent vehicle.
Why would they use substandard plastic, inside and part of the bumper, to afix the washer doors for the headlights?
I had a spring come off and thought it could be replaced easily. It took a body shop, not the dealer, to remove the bumper, discover one side broken and the other side cracked to diagnose the design defect. Not wanting an expensive bumper replacement for what should be a small plastic part repair I opted to disable the washers and glue the doors shut. It still cost me $100.
I wouldn't expect this from this level of vehicle.
Makes me rethink purchasing a 2020 Q7 for $90k.

My mates S4 did exactly the same thing so it seems to be across the Audi range. He just purchased a new complete one from TPS for £20 and replaced it though....

Does it not work the same as it does on the D2? Short pull, windscreen washers only .... long pull windscreen and headlights. I just use a series of shorter pulls if I dont want to activate the headlight washers.

Not sure if that works? Will have to test. But turning the headlights off stops the headlight washers functioning also. Or just disable in VCDs, but that will result in MOT test fail?
