FLAT SPOTS OR MOMENTARY LOSS OF POWER

Folks

I have a 170 manual sline q5 and a TT TDI.

Both cars are less than 3 months old.

A question

When driving along at about 40 to 60 mph i sometimes get a feeling like someone has flicked the power switch off for a fraction of a second and the car feels odd. A bit like a very short power cut. It seems to be when driving on undulating roads. Might it be the 4 wheel drive cutting in and out as the axles gain and lose weight as they go over crests of hills and the quattro powers the individual wheel on and off. It seems odd. My partner tells me I am making it up as she can not feels it!
