I bought a 60 plate Q5 from Lincoln Audi and i'm extremely happy with the car (after a month of trying to find a comfortable seat position!). I have however had one minor problem. About three weeks after getting the car the engine management light came on (when I was coming down a hill on the over-run and braking for a corner I think). As I live about 280 miles from Lincoln, I took the car to my local Audi/VW independent and they read the fault code and cleared it. Something to do with the emissions it appears. Anyway last week it happened again as I backed off after overtaking something at about 65mph and this time I have left the light on as I will possibly be taking the car to my nearest dealer (Carlisle) to get it seen to. My question is: what is the likely underlying fault? I assume some sort of emission sensor problem. Secondly, can you get a gadget to switch off the light yourself? I have a ÂŁ20 gadget that does a great job on my 2000 A4 quattro airbag light but I think the newer models are more sophisticated and so maybe not as easy to sort it at home. Other than that the car has been faultless so far - maybe the automatic tailgate could go a couple of inches higher but that's probably just a matter of lubrication.
